The Giant Sloth is part of an extinct genus named Megatherium, they are also referred to as Giant Ground Sloth or Megathere. They inhabited the area corresponding to South America around 35 million years ago. These 20 feet (6 meters) tall herbivore creatures are directly related to current-day ground sloths as well as armadillos and anteaters.
