DESIGN

Designed by RCM senior engraver Stan Witten, the coin’s reverse features an inspiring arrangement of sugar maple (Acer saccharum) leaves. Selective gold plating highlights the rim and the foremost maple leaf, while the other leaves are set apart by different frostings that create a striking contrast against the slightly matte field. The rim is also gold-plated on the obverse, which features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
