Princess Jasmine has appeared in three Disney films - Aladdin, The Return of Jafar and Aladdin and the King of Thieves. She is based on a character from the Arabic folk tale Aladdin, part of the One Thousand and One Nights series. The original film Aladdin became the highest grossing animated film of it's time.

The obverse has the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, while the reverse features a colourized image of Jasmine as she appeared in the Disney film. She is wearing her signature turquoise outfit that she is seen in during much of the film, Aladdin.
