George T. Morgan revolutionized his design by using an American model, Anna Willess Williams, rather than the typical Greek-inspired rendition of Lady Liberty. The newly imagined Lady Liberty featured Anna Willess Williams as the model, as she donned a Phrygian cap. He said that her profile was the most perfect he had ever seen.

The Morgan silver dollar was minted from 1878 to 1904, with a one-year return to production in 1921. Since its creation in 1878 by legendary engraver George T. Morgan, the Morgan silver dollar has enjoyed a sustained reputation as one of the most easily recognizable bullion coins in the world. This is due, in part, to the coin's beautifully detailed design and rich history.
