DESIGN

The reverse design features Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Royal Cypher, with the letters “EII” ("Elizabeth II”) and “R” (“Regina,” meaning Queen) surmounted by a representation of St. Edward’s Crown. Her Majesty’s personal device is surrounded by boughs of Canadian maple leaves entwined with a ribbon designed by Canadian artist Katherine Rose-Desrochers. The double dates “1952 2022” commemorate the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty’s accession to the throne. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
