A privy mark with the year of issue is engraved within the field, with an encapsulating ring, adorned with micro-radial lines, the nation of issue, denomination, and purity.

The obverse contains Susanna Blunt’s contemporary effigy of her majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, over a field of radial lines.
