COIN HIGHLIGHTS

  • Ships individually in protective packaging
  • Consisting of 1.25 oz of 9999 Fine Silver
  • Obverse: Features an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
  • Reverse: Features the bust of the brilliant bovine in true form, centered over a blank field

As an exclusive release from the Royal Canadian Mint, the Wild Life series takes a unique approach by including animals that are known to inhabit the great white north. The Bison is a crucial mammal in Canadian history, as their fur and ample meat supply was able to provide the Nation’s indigenous population and new settlers on the land, with warmth and sustenance. The massive bovine is characterized by its incredible size and strength, unique woolly appearance, and its reputation as a herbivore that is a “gentle giant.”

On the reverse side is the bust of the brilliant bovine in true form, centered over a blank field. The image is encapsulated by the weight, purity, and Nation of issue. The added security feature of radial lines is applied to the encapsulation, which also adds to the beauty of this coin.

The reverse side contains the contemporary effigy of Queen Elizabeth II over a field of radial lines, an added security feature. The Queen’s title features above her head, with the denominational value below.
