The reverse side illustrates the series mainstay, a Kookaburra perched on a tree branch as it surveys the land. Expert texturing is applied to the depiction with a great deal of attention to detail paid to the bird's feathers. The leaves of a Eucalyptus tree are seen in the coin's field, in addition to the unique privy mark, indicative of the year of the horse.

The obverse displays Ian Rank-Broadley's contemporary effigy of her majesty Queen Elizabeth II, over a blank field. The image is encapsulated by the Queen's title, the nation of issue, and the denominational value.

ABOUT THE PERTH MINT
