This 11.8 mm thick, silver coin is the latest, exquisite edition to the Egyptian relics series, created by the Scottsdale mint in partnership with the Republic of Chad.

The coin’s reverse features an incredibly striking portrait of ancient Egypt’s queen Nefertiti who, along with her husband, the Pharaoh Akhenaten, revolutionized the Egyptian belief system and way of life.

No text is used on the reverse, in keeping with the ‘relic’ theme of the series, Egyptian hieroglyphs can be seen on the field, as well as ‘wear and chisel’ marks, as if the coin was just retrieved from an ancient Egyptian tomb.

The coin’s obverse feature is the Chad Republic’s national coat of arms, a goat and a lion (domestic and wild) supporting a shield before the rising sun.

The obverse of the coin bears the same decorative ‘wear and chisel’ marks, along with the ‘Republic of Chad’ name (in French) and the country’s coat of arms; the coin’s 3000 Franc denominational value, its purity and weight.
