The yinyang symbol at the top of the field on the reverse symbolizes the struggle between equal and opposing forces.

A stylized tiger and dragon prepare to battle, and the coin carries an auspicious face value of eight dollars.

The obverse features two phoenixes flanking the central hole and below the effigy of the Queen.

Stylized scroll work fills the bottom of the field.
