GILDED KOOKABURRA

The coin portrays a high relief representation of a kookaburra in flight with a snake in its talons. Adding further to the coin’s spectacular appearance, the kookaburra and the outer ring of the coin are meticulously gilded in 24 carat gold. The reverse also includes the inscription ‘KOOKABURRA’, a ‘P125’ mintmark signifying The Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary, and the coin’s weight, purity and 2024 year-date.

H.M. KING CHARLES III EFFIGY

The coin’s obverse portrays the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, and the monetary denomination.

ABOUT THE PERTH MINT

The Perth Mint opened in 1899 as the British Royal Mint’s 3rd branch in Australia. The historical Hay Street location handled gold refining until moving to a modern facility in April 1990.
