The Rolling Stones is an English rock and roll band formed in London in the year of 1962. They are considered one of the hard rock genre's pioneers, and after six decades, they are still performing and maintaining the status of worldwide success.
Mick Jagger forms the band as the vocalist, Keith Richards as the guitarist, Bill Wyman as the bassist, Charlie Watts as the drummer and Brian Jones which plays multiple instruments.
The reverse features a mix of textures and finishes to deliver an exquisite and unique coin. The design consists of a texturized grainy silhouette of the Rolling Stones performing to an audience with five spotlight beams behind the band's silhouette in a proof-like finish. High-relief dots form the background behind and in between the light beams. In addition, the band's name is written across the mid-upper portion in the traditional Rolling Stones font. Inscriptions indicating the 60th anniversary of the band are also present, along with security mechanisms to prevent counterfeiting, such as micro-inscriptions around the edge indicating the metal weight, type and shown purity (one ounce of 999.9 Fine Gold).
The obverse displays the final portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at age 89, designed by the renowned Jody Clark. The effigy displays Her Late Majesty QEII in a right-profile relief wearing the beautiful King George IV State Diadem.
