The 2008 Olympic Torch Relay had the theme "One World, One Dream". The torch was lit in Olympia, Greece (the birthplace of the popular games) on the 24th of March of 2008. The torch was transferred to Beijing on March 31, where a journey passing through the six continents begun. A curiosity about the 2008 torch is that it was carried to the top of Mount Everest.
